Work began with a weeklong contract in May 2015. Project Manager and Senior Surveyor, Tony Vullo, led a ten-man team tasked with moving the entire contents of the DT building back to our secure commercial storage facilities in NW10.
Senior Foremen Arnie and Tomek ensured that the Alexanders team worked seamlessly alongside the numerous other contractors involved in the project and that everything ran like clockwork.
We carried out all the necessary health and safety inspections for the project
Due to the size and complexity of the project we used a number of different vehicles throughout the week including forklifts for transporting heavy equipment on to the Alexanders vans and lorries.
Our packing team used a variety of heavy duty packing materials and specialist crates to make sure that the full inventory arrived back at Alexanders HQ in the same condition it left Harrow School.
Once everything had been safely housed within our London storage facilities we set about creating a dedicated section specifically for Harrow School allowing items to be inspected quickly and easily by the school when they came to visit.
Phase two involved redelivery out of storage and was another six-day event requiring a team of 10 men.
The second phase of the project required us to redeliver the majority of the items back to the school. It was critical that we delivered specific items back exactly when they were needed to avoid any delays with our parts of the project. Our Operations and Contingency teams made sure that all timelines were adhered to and deadlines met so that the new Digital Design Suite could open as planned.
We are delighted to have been involved in a successful project of this magnitude for a world-famous educational institution and are looking forward to a long-running partnership between Harrow School and Alexanders.
