Managing furniture, belongings, and sentimental items
Moving out of a shared home means deciding what to take with you. While small, personal possessions can usually fit into a new space, larger items such as furniture may be harder to accommodate, especially if:
- your new home is smaller than your previous one.
- you’re moving into a furnished rental or moving in with relatives temporarily.
- you need to downsize temporarily before settling into a permanent residence.
- you have accumulated a large number of personal belongings over the course of many years
Rather than hastily selling, giving away, or leaving valuable items behind, consider placing them in storage. This allows you to keep furniture and sentimental possessions safe until you have a clearer picture of your long-term housing situation.
At Alexanders, we have both short-term and long-term storage options. If you are looking for more frequent access to your storage unit then self-storage could be the better solution for you. You will have your own key and you can visit your storage unit whenever you want within opening hours. Our self-storage facility is conveniently located near transport links.
Choose our long-term storage option if you won’t need to access your belongings for a number of months or even years. This represents the more economical option but you will need to give us 5 days’ notice if you want to access your storage containers.
