Introduction
After a series of planning meetings we were shortlisted down to the final two before eventually being awarded the contract with work taking place over five days in early 2015.
Requirement
The first phase of the project involved packing the A/W15 Collection, materials, dress-cutting tables and machinery along with general office items and transporting them from the Alexander McQueen Design Studio to another London address.
Overseen by Project Manager Tony Vullo, we used a ten-man team and a variety of vehicles from the Alexanders Commercial fleet to make sure that everything went smoothly. It was critical that we kept this high-profile move out of the public eye and we ensured that all aspects of the project were handled with the utmost discretion.
The second phase involved the packing of the Alexander McQueen Stikus Frame at the flagship store in Mayfair. This large, touchscreen table allows shoppers to take part in a unique digital shopping experience where they can create and merge different outfits from both current and previous collections, watch videos and make use of a number of online tools.
Valued at £165,000 this extremely heavy, yet fragile table required three men to lift it and had to be handled with considerable care. We overcame the challenge of maneuvering it in an upright position into a small internal elevator and it was delivered safely to its destination in Leicester.
